Spinning Machine & Robotic Arm Work in Perfect Harmony

With the increasing use of CNC spinning, many products in the market now use CNC Spinning Machines for production. For example, in the lighting industry, the main materials processed are aluminum and iron, and the production is relatively stable. Therefore, many manufacturers want to use machine automation to replace manual labor to reduce labor costs. Is it suitable for CNC spinning machine tools to be automated? Whether the production line invested in automation is very stable has become the focus of everyone's attention.

CNC spinning machine processing is originally a fully automatic processing process controlled by CNC programs, and automation transformation is mostly operated by robots in the loading and unloading links. The stability of robot operation is related to the following two factors.

Ⅰ. The way and strength of the robot gripping the product to demould

Because the spin-formed product needs a certain demoulding force to be demoulded after molding, especially for barrel-shaped products, the selection of the robot gripping method and strength is the key to the smooth demoulding of the product. If the strength is too large, the aluminum product will be easily deformed or scratched; if the strength is too small, the product cannot be successfully removed from the mold or it will fall off in the middle, causing product damage.

Ⅱ. Production stability of CNC spinning

After a long period of production, the temperature of the mold and the spinning wheel of the CNC spinning machine will rise, affecting the demoulding force. In addition, the product may occasionally break due to material or other factors during the production process. Whether the clamping of the robot is effective after the break is also a problem that needs to be considered. If the robot cannot demould the product from the mold smoothly and continues to feed, the next product spinning will increase the force on the cutter wheel because the blank on the mold has not been cleared, and the sheet, cutter wheel, and mold will heat up sharply, and normal production will no longer be possible.

Although the stability of the automation of CNC spinning machines in mass production still needs to be further improved, it does not mean that automation is not feasible. When manufacturers customize CNC spinning, they can make automation designs in advance during the design stage. After the newly purchased CNC spinning machine arrives at the factory, it can be put into automated production directly. After the CNC spinning machine has been in trial production for a period of time and the production situation is stable, it can be upgraded to automation, so as to achieve the goal of reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
